Borkus, the Sword King (【剣王】ボークス), is a titan hero[2] and an A-class adventurer.[1] He lost his life to Mikhail in the war between Talosheim and the Mirg Shield-Nation 200 years ago, and became an undead.[2] Currently, he holds the position of military officer in the new Talosheim.[3]
Appearance[]
Borkus is described as a bald male with finely-chiseled features.[2] He is a little over three meters tall. Half of his head is merely a skull.[1] His right arm was destroyed before his death[4] and restored by Vandalieu later.[5]
Personality[]
"He has a rough but helpful personality and eats and drinks a lot. He is the embodiment of a Titan man and was idolized when he was alive. However, he had a daughter who apparently saw him as a simple doting parent."[1]
He was terrible at acting like a zombie, but he thinks that being a zombie wasn't so bad, since he can now gain experience points simply by devouring the meat of creatures that he kills.[3]
Even though he's appointed as one of Talosheim's military officers, he threw all of his work onto Chezare.[3]
Biography[]
As he takes the Undead of the former expedition army with him when he hunts it can be said that he works by training the new members[3]
Abilities[]
When he was alive, Borkus was said to have cut off the head of a dragon in a single attack.[2] He was granted the title "Sword King," because he could defeat any monster, no matter how powerful, with a single sword.[6]
Upon death, he became a zombie hero whose strength exceeded that of lesser dragons and who had retained enough of his sanity to hold a conversation.[2] As the original person’s soul is inhabiting the original person’s body, his rank and the levels of his skills were high, but as he had simply been guarding the audience chamber, his level was low and he was weaker than when he was alive.[5]
In the battle against Mikhail, Borkus lost his dominant arm and half of his sword's blade, and his armor was torn to pieces. His body was in such a condition were several of his swordsmanship skills were disabled, such as Sword King Technique, Strengthened Attack Power while equipped with a sword (Large), and Strengthened Defensive Power while equipped with non-metal armor: (Medium). Thanks to this he was only as strong as a rank 7 despite being at rank 9.[5]
After Vandalieu restored his dominant arm and gave him Bugogan's magic sword, his fighting strength returned to a level that corresponded to his rank. As he possessed tremendously powerful skills, he would likely be able to display fighting strength beyond his rank, once he became accustomed to being an undead.[5]
