A god is a divine consciousness who govern a realm and their own Divine Realm. The god may have originally been born by chaos, transmigrated from another world, or a mortal who has created a divine body for themselves. A god's power is greatly affected by the number of their believers.[?]
Propagation[]
There are several ways for gods to come into existence, that we know of:
- A god existing in the beginning and creating the world. The Eleven Founding Gods of Lambda like Zuruwarn, including their predecessors like Diachmell, fall into this category.[?]
- A god transmigrating from another world. The Demon King Guduranis who lead his followers and the evil gods to Lambda, which they tried to invade and conquer, is an example of this.[?]
- A god created by the religions of spontaneously spawned organisms that evolved on Earth. In a way, this was the purest form of religion.[?]
Godhood Alteration[]
"Incidentally, falsely altering a religion might sound easy to do from a mortal’s perspective, but this was quite a dangerous act for a god like Merrebeveil. Small alterations would be like putting small piercings in the ears, but changing from an evil god to a heroic god would need the same amount of resolve as being anesthetized and undergoing plastic surgery to the entire body while also receiving surgery to the internal organs at the same time. It was no different from asking a human to undergo surgery to become a creature made entirely of tentacles."[?]
"Even if it succeeded, their divinity would change so their personality and biology would also change. And even this result would be considered a good one; it was also possible that they would fall apart and be extinguished with their fragments forming an entirely new god, as if they had been reincarnated. It was even possible that they would separate into two gods and become weaker."[?]
Hierarchy[]
The hierarchy of gods is not clearly defined, since it bears no meaning for neither mortals nor for the gods themselves. In fact, it would be harmful to both, if mortals simply choose to worship only the highest-ranking god of each attribute. Most mortals choose which god to pray to based on what would benefit them most after all, an act could hardly be called faith to begin with.[1]
For one, if only a few gods were worshipped, it would result in less divine protections being granted, and fewer people capable of summoning familiar spirits or more powerful beings. Even weak gods are capable of granting divine protections and the ability to summon familiar spirits, after all. Therefore, this would become more difficult if only powerful gods received the people's attention.[1]
Secondly, the gods themselves would not accept such a system, where their teachings and natures, including the achievements of their believers, be ignored in favor of simply deciding which gods were the most powerful. "Powerful gods would simply continue to grow more powerful, and the weaker gods, no matter how justified and benevolent they were, would continue to grow weaker."[1]
Abilities[]
- Sending Divine Messages[2]
- Granting Divine Protection[3] and blessings[2]
- Divine punishments and placing curses[4]
- Residing in Divine Realms[5]
- Creating Spirit clones[6]
- Seeing Spirits[7]
- Seeing things through respective followers[8]
Gods created by the religions have many different personalities. These gods are only capable of performing minor miracles from time to time, and does not interfere with or do anything in the world they govern over.[?]
Ruin of Godhood[]
When gods are severely injured by others or lose the interest of the people,[9] they may fall into a state of existence where they are not powerful enough to exercise their divine authority.[1] In such cases, demigod with a material body can continue to live as a creature, and a god without a body can continue to exist like a fairy tale character, such as a fairy or a devil, but in the case of a god like Rodcorte, who has no basis of existence in any particular world, this phenomenon means extinction, along with the familiar spirits.[10]
In the case of gods of Earth and Origin, which respectively exist as a mass of gods in each world, personalities that have been forgotten are weakened or extinguished and are turned to resources for the presence of the other gods that are of greater interest to the people.[11][12]
