Talosheim is currently a growing city under Vandalieu's rule, built on top of the historic fortress city.

Government policies[]

Family register
A policy introduced to help with managing the system for distributing food. It is managed by Chezare and the others.[2]
Aristocratic System
A system of heriditary court ranks that function like important guarantees of the social position and well-being of one's descendants. It was put on hold for a while due to "formalities," but implemented after Chezare explained its benefits. Chezare explained that such guarantees would be a good selling point to persuade nobles of other nations to defect and make their loyalty grow stronger.[3]
Laws
Chezare created the laws using the laws that Talosheim used in the past as well the laws from the Hartner Duchy as references, although they weren't of much use initially.[4]
Labor Standards Act
A policy implemented to protect officials from being expected to work absurd hours.[5] It was conceived after overworked Kurt Legston told Vandalieu about his exhaustion, something his undead brother Chezare had not noticed.[?]
Income tax
A tax policy that collected tax money from all citizens, depending on their income, going from 5-20%. Those with a minimum income were exempt, while those with higher yearly incomes were taxed higher percentages of their income.[6]
Currency
The currency known as Luna circulates in the city, though many still trade in goods rather than money, because there's still not many different kinds of stores.[7] Despite the fact that the coins may not be able to be exchanged for gold and silver coins in the future, ghouls were ignorant about monetary economies and valued the metals not for their scarcity, but for their properties in crafting.[6] Before the implementation of Luna, people usually bartered.[8]

Economy[]

Due to the distribution of Vandalieu's recreated food items, a bustling marketplace has formed in the city, where the inhabitants trade dungeon loot for more of his seasonings and condiments.[9]

Agriculture[]

Talosheim possessed incredibly fertile soil due to it being a semi-devil's nest. On one hand this allowed the city to cultivate crops at a faster rate than usual. For example wheat could be harvested three months after being planted. On the other hand, some crops and especially livestock would turn into monsters due to being showered in either Vandalieu's death-attribute mana or by corrupted mana inherent in the devil's nest.[10] Vandalieu could further help the farming along by making fertilizer[11] out of manure.[?]
