The space-attribute Ghosts (空間属性のゴースト) are the end of over a thousand challengers from human society who have been killed over the past 100 years by Gufadgarn, the ordealer in the Trial of Zakkart.[1] Later, they fused into one being, a Ghost Legion named Jane Doe (ジェーン・ドゥ)[2]
They should have included Martina, a Spiritual Mage of the Five-colored Blades, one of Vandalieu's nemeses, but for reasons that will be explained later, even Vandalieu was not able to discover to destroy her.[1]
To prevent the leakage of information to Alda and Rodcorte, Gufadgarn killed the challengers who prayed to Alda at the entrance[3] and then imprisoned them in the Dungeon, squeezing the fear out of them as the Dungeon power source, making them lose their memories of their lives as quickly as possible.[1]
After Vandalieu conquered Trial of Zakkart, they were trained under the direction of Kimberley and Orbia[4] and used as tools to manipulate space-attribute magic through Vandalieu's Dead Spirit Magic.[5][6]
