Summary[]
It's the end of summer. They spend the week making preparations for the coronation ceremony. Vandalieu hastily makes a crown and throne out of Orichalcum (which are black in color). Then the day of the ceremony is decided and announced, so a preparation for a feast is made. Everyone dresses up, albeit in clothes made of clean furs, making them look like a tribe of savage, and stood in rows in the assembly hall built in front of the Royal Castle. Vanda has also appointed some of his companions to different court positions, to fill up the nobles' seats in the plaza, though the people in question all feel unqualified.
- Borkus is now the (vanguard) military officer, though complaining that he's a 'free adventurer!'
- Zadiris is given the position of royal court mage, despite excusing her lacking skills as she's still training.
- Sam is appointed to a civil official positon, despite claiming he is but a simple coachman and caretaker of horses.
- Nuaza has become the acting church leader, because of lack of other suitable candidates to nominate in his stead.
Nuaza conducts the coronation ceremony as the acting (substitute) leader of the Church of Vida. He gave a small recount of Talosheim's history, and Vandalieu makes an oath to bring further prosperity to Talosheim and uphold its royal authority, receive the crown and be bestowed the Title. Instead of the customary Sun King title, they decide on the more fitting title of Eclipse King, to mark a new page in the history of the nation. That concludes the coronation ceremony, and the festivities follow. Vandalieu spends the day with everyone, enjoying the feast such as boat-wrapped sashimi, Needle Wolf miso hotpots, dinosaur steaks, fruit agar made with Kobol fruits and honey. "As for the explanation of the defense policies against the expedition army and what we’ll be doing until they arrive, that can come tomorrow."
Bormack Gordan is persuaded by his warrior-priest subordinates to not join the expedition, since other priorities were more important. But the night before he is going to decline participating, he receives a Divine Message from Alda, but he ends up misinterpreting the "Demon King's shadow" as Vandalieu.
Vandalieu has created a virus to use in the war, and tested it on a Double-headed Tyrannosaurus. The others think it's a bit much, as the epidemic control in Amid and Mirg weren't very sophisticated, and treating diseases were considerably difficult. “Have I created something unexpectedly dangerous?” Vandalieu wondered. “But I made it so that its effects will stop after half a day, so I guess it will be fine.”
Rita and Saria has improved their Spirit Form skill, and are now able to eat food. Their bodies have also become voluptuous and exposed, compared to their former stick-figures. Sam realises why Vanda had asked if putting his daughters in such suits would be ok, though none of the Ghoul males approached them, probably because they're Vandalieu's body guards. He has stopped Kachia and Eleanora from also wearing such revealing clothing. “And there are a lot of ways to solve the problem, like making them wear capes or wrapping them in cloths." But changing the suits of armor would be impossible. They were the main bodies of those two, after all.
Kachia is now Warrior LV100, so she can change Jobs.
